The 21st century differs from all previous world population growth, which has given a lot of economic, social, environmental and other problems that have become a headache for many governments and the world community as a whole. After all, in developed countries, the population doubled in just 100 years, exceeding a billion, and in less developed countries it quadrupled, approaching 5 billion. It is projected that 9.2 billion people will live on Earth in 2075, and only after that the number of humanity will begin Gradually decrease.

The demographic problem in its most general form is the dynamics of the population unfavorable for economic development and the shifts in its age structure.

In a number of developing countries, the essence of the demographic problem is a sharp increase in the population, which hinders economic development, depriving the country of the possibility of carrying out production accumulation in any significant amount.

Another aspect of the demographic problem is the transition of developed countries to simple reproduction of the population, and in many post-socialist countries — depopulation due to a sustained excess of mortality over fertility.

The demographic problem influences not only the situation of individual countries of the world, but also influences the development of the world economy and international relations, requires serious attention of both scientists and governments of various states.

Thus, in the sphere of fertility and population growth in the modern world, there are two opposite tendencies:

— stabilization or reduction in developed countries;

— a sharp increase in developing countries.

All modern global problems of world economy have common characteristics: that problems are interrelated, affect the interests of all countries, hinders the economic and social development of the world.

The global problems of the world economy can be divided into intersocial problems, global problems of a humanitarian, cultural and ethnic nature and global problems in the sphere of interaction between society and nature.

These problems are important and play a significant role in the world economy, as they affect the development of countries both now and in the future.
